Here's my card, in case you ever need me

I don't have hundreds of thousands of dollars of equipment, this isn't my "day-job."

What I do have is a small-town ethic, where I want to work with you to figure out what's going to work best.

If it's important to you to get truckloads of proof books and bells and whistles for hundreds of dollars- you'd better keep looking. I could even refer you to a few people. But if you're looking for someone who will do their best to look for those moments in time that you will be able to hold on to, look no further.

So here is my beautiful new logo for my freelancing designer/photographer/cartoonist business (which hasn't really made me much money yet, but what the heck)!

I've had several people try to encourage me to offer to do Senior Portraits this summer. I realize that it's not the best business model to just post all my cartoons here on a blog and only get paid by one small town newspaper, but I' ll get my butt in gear here and try to send some cover letters and stacks of examples out eventually. School is busy, life is busy, there's still a mountain of neurosis's to overcome...

Student Portrait Shoot

Megan missed picture day at our school. She needed to have her picture taken for the yearbook, but she was also thinking about gifts for her parents and boyfriend. This was pretty informal and improvised after school, but with the help of an overcast day and a skylight in the hall, I think we got some beautiful shots. You can see more at my Mallory's Milieu.

My first foray into sanior portraits

I've never taken senior pictures before. This weekend I took over 140 of them for my nephew. We had fun, even though it was in the 100s here in Iowa. I feel good enough about it that I may actually have the guts to advertise to do it for other people's nephews next summer.
