Re: The Latest from Ted's Column

Well, Adolph was 84, his son Allan is 64 and still farming, and his
grandson Cory, who is 44 is chomping at the bit to get at it, as is
his son, Nolan who is only 9. Back when Cory wasn't out of college too
long he talked Adolph and Allan into going to no-till. As I understand
it, Adolph had already been recognized for years of leadership in
conservation. Mind you, wind rows and terraces certainly add to the
changes from virgin prairie that you were talking about. But you're
certainly right. It is the part of the passing of an era; Allan's wife
has always had an outside job, When Cory takes over, he'll work
another job himself, besides his wife having one. It's sad enough to
lose our Grandpa, but America really has lost a way of life too.
