The assignment was to use only two complementary colors (opposite each other on the color wheel) and black and white and to paint a portrait in oil pastels. Here is the one I'm working on:
This is about 14x20 on paper. Worked on Fri 2/2, Mon 2/4-Tue 2/5. I haven't decided yet whether or not to call it done. the nose and mouth are particularly tricky. My fingers are only so small, so it is tough to get in for the details in tight areas. Below is a picture of the student model, Jessica. When she's done, I'll post her self-portrait for you too.
