Why illegal immigration is a Republican red-herring

News item: The company that was contracted to build part of the wall between the United States and Mexico agreed to pay $5 million in fines for hiring illegal workers. U.S. Attorney Carol Lam says as many as a third of the Golden gate fence Company's workforce may have been in the country without proper documentation.

HELLO!?!?!? How many times have I got to point this out to people? We need to focus on the employers who don't want to have to pay a living wage, health benefits, or taxes and therefore seek out illegals for cheap (virtually slave) labor. But no, we keep targeting the poor migrant workers who are just looking for "the American Dream" of working hard and making better money than back home and make them out as a scape goat, illicitly making it into a race issue instead of an economic issue. Wake up, its not a world of national borders and nations made up of ethnically homogeneous populations anymore (if it ever was) and it is Republican corporatism that helped make it one big market in the first place. Save the middle class, abandon the NeoCons!
